Rubio at CPAC (March 14, 2013) from Salon.com
The headlines from the story: Rubio at CPAC: Liberals are “freeloaders.” In a rousing CPAC speech, Rubio mocks climate change, says life begins at conception, and declares he's not a bigot.
Then he appealed for main primary election voters (which every hardcore GOPer has to do) by saying:
“Just because I want to define marriage in a traditional way does not make me a bigot. Just because I believe that life, all life, at all stages of development, deserves to be protected does not make him closed-minded. The people who are closed-minded in our society are the ones who love to preach about climate science, but ignore that science has proven that life begins at conception.” (wow mixing of topics there Senator).
Funny in a sick and ironic way how he failed to mention from this speech seen here at the Reagan Library in August 2011, how "social security and Medicare" weakened us as a people, but later in interviews said he was glad the programs were there for his sick father when he needed them most and how they help his mother still today.
Rubio is a first rate hypocrite. However, he does fit the GOP mold so no one should be surprised. He is a hard line opportunist who will do, say, pay, try, lie, or imply anything to get and stay in office. He is a phony, par excellence.
