Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) Up for Reelection in Tight Race
(Looking Only One Direction)
Tight Race: How Can We Tell About Graham
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) warned this week that Republican
lawmakers would call for President Obama’s impeachment if he released more
prisoners from Guantanamo Bay
without congressional approval. What is
Graham worried about with this strong language? Oh, this minor little step may
be why he acted and responded the way he did:
Graham is a member of the Armed Services Committee also faces a tough contested primary and along
the way he added language to the pending defense authorization bill that would
require an up-or-down vote in Congress to approve the closure of Guantanamo.
So, Senator, are you just running for reelection or just running
scared? What, cat walk off with your TEA bag.
Meanwhile not far from SC in sunny FL Sen. Marco Rubio (R-) said that kind of talk “... is not
the right approach to warn President Obama about impeachment following the
release of Guantánamo prisoners without congressional notice. He was responding
to directly to the Graham comments saying in part: “To be honest with you, I'm
not sure there are many people here that are focused on that right now.”
One
level-headed response to an unleveled approach – don’t they cancel each other
out? So, I guess so no pain, no gain, except for one of these Senators may
follow soon. Stay tuned.
