FOX Headlines: Quick, Duck Under Your Bed
(then the truth)
Fox's Brian Kilmeade calls for Generals to Walk off the Job
Major Update on Theme of FOX Bullshit Reporting:
This update has this headline (and not from FOX, but about
FOX) from
Media Matters:
“DHS Debunks Right-Wing Fiction that
Highlights include:
1. The Department of Homeland
Security definitively debunked the persistent right-wing media conspiracy
theory that Islamic State fighters have attempted to cross the US-Mexico
border, saying the rumor is not supported by any “credible
intelligence and knocking the claim that the terrorists have been apprehended
at the border as “categorically false."
2. Then in September, Rep. Jason Chaffetz
(R-UT) made such claims followed
by Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) who claimed to have first-hand knowledge of
the terrorists crossing the border.
It remains to be seen whether DHS's facts permeate the
right-wing bubble. After hearing the DHS statement, Sean Hannity claimed on
his radio program that the agency could not be trusted and suggested it may be
lying.
THIS DHS UPDATE: In remarks to the Center for
Strategic & International Studies
Statesmen's
Forum on October 9th, DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson explained
that four men had been apprehended at the southern border in
September and investigated for ties to terrorist organizations.
It was found out that they were self-declared members of the
Kurdish Worker's Party, a group which has defended Kurdish territory in Iraq
against incursions from the Islamic State. Johnson said that the men had
been arrested for unlawful entry, detained, and would be deported.
They were NOT ISIS/ISIL in any fashion, yet we expect FOX to not give up with scaring the crap out of the country while trying to make political points for the GOP ... call is a sham and horrible shame. Just freedom of the press, right: Ha ... BS.
Original Story Begins From Here: Let's be clear about
this thorny subject: Where is the (any) line between hate speech and free
speech; seditious speech vs. free speech; subversive speech vs. freedom of the
press, etc., shall we – honestly be honest.
In law, sedition is overt conduct, such
as speech and organization that is deemed by the legal authority
to tend toward insurrection against the established order. Sedition
often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of
discontent (or resistance) to lawful authority. Sedition may include any
commotion, though not aimed at direct and open violence against the laws.
Seditious words in writing are seditious libel. A seditionist is
one who engages in or promotes the interests of sedition.
Typically, sedition is considered a subversive act, and
the overt
acts that may be prosecuted under sedition laws vary from one legal
code to another. Where the history of these legal codes has been traced, there
is also a record of the change in the definition of the elements constituting
sedition at certain points in history.
Kilmeade, co-host of the FOX and FRIENDS show, said
this in part here:
“Why Didn’t Obama’s (Military) Advisors Put Their Stars Down
and Walk Out?”
Is this just a simple matter of free speech on Kilmeade’s part?
Does he have the right to call for General Officers to walk off the job? Give
me a break. This is serious stuff, folks. It both undermines the nature and
fabric of the country and it is raw and subversive in fact.
If it were one case, or a one time deal, or just this
incident, I'd say, okay give them a pass. That might be in order ... but FOX
does this daily, and it's not in order by any sense. How can anyone profess to
say they love and support the country and then make statements like this one or
like FOX “hosts” do daily ... what is in play here? It's not news; not even
news worthy. It's neither fair nor balanced either as they claim.
Now I will get blasted for this I am sure by those who
profess their right of free speech and I agree and I am expressing my right,
too - however, I do not and will not (ever) call for military officers to throw
down their ranks and walk off the job - first of all they cannot by law. But,
the mere fact of FOX allows this to flow over the airwaves implies to me that
they don't care about military discipline or law and order - not one bit. And,
yes that is subversive by any standard.
Jump in if you like. Comments are always welcome. But, for
anyone to try and defend Kilmeade and FOX, falls short in the rational or
logical departments in my view. It is more than free speech/or press. FOX not
only crosses that line daily, but they work hard to erase the line while
advocating it as their “right and freedom.” How ironic is that? FOX tears at
the fabric of the country and then have the unmitigated gall to cite our freedoms
as the reason they lie and rant and spin and spread fear and hype.
