Do I hear $100k, 75, 50, 25 –
how about 10. Come on folks
this is chance of a lifetime...!!!
What? NY Times picked up the story (Holy crap)...
THIS IS MAJOR UPDATE ON EARLIER POST ABOUT THE BIDDING FOR COFFEE WITH IVANKA TRUMP-KUSHNER (SEE NEXT BELOW):
The
day after his inauguration, a group of people with enough money will have the
chance to hang out with President Donald Trump and even get to go hunting with
his sons.
That’s
according to a draft invitation obtained by TMZ for an “Opening Day” reception on
January 21 at the Washington Convention Center. The event will “celebrate the
great American tradition of outdoor sporting, shooting, fishing, and
conservation,” and the highest sponsors (those shelling out $1 million and
$500,000) will receive a private reception and photo opportunity with Trump, as
well as a “multi-day hunting and/or fishing excursion” with Donald Trump Jr.
and/or Eric Trump.
Both
Donald Jr. and Eric have been actively involved with the Trump transition, and Trump
campaign manager Kellyanne Conway has indicated it’s still possible they might have
positions in the West Wing. This is despite the fact that Trump has indicated
they will manage his business while he’s President (Note: Via another of his infamous
Tweets).
This
is only the latest example of access to the Trump family — and thus to his administration
— being for sale.
Ivanka
Trump, who is considering moving to DC and possibly serving as de-facto First Lady, recently attempted to auction
off a coffee date for $500,000 through Charity Buzz, but it was abruptly canceled after many questioned the ethics of
so blatantly selling special access to the first family. According to the Trump
Organization, they decided to hold off on the auction until “our team was aligned on
steps moving forward.”
Federal officials have also indicated that Trump must give up ownership of his hotel in Washington, D.C. or be in violation of his contract. There are already indications that booking the hotel (Note: The one he now contracts from the GSA in DC and wants to own) is being seen as a conduit for winning Trump’s favor.
Original post starts here. A truly astonishing story. One
for the history books.Federal officials have also indicated that Trump must give up ownership of his hotel in Washington, D.C. or be in violation of his contract. There are already indications that booking the hotel (Note: The one he now contracts from the GSA in DC and wants to own) is being seen as a conduit for winning Trump’s favor.
Up until now I never knew
Ivanka Trump-Kushner's middle name. Wow – it’s “eBay” just like the place you can
place bid on an item.
Only this item was for a bid on a
45-minute meeting with Ivanka. I guess to win a chance to discuss issues with her to relay on to her Dad.
Call is a “cozy bid” – kind of
like that Russian hacker “Cozy Bear.” Yeah, that kind of stuff – you know,
under the radar and out of sight. Except in this case, the NY Times picked up the story. Ouch ... I bet The Donald is p.o.ed?
More importantly, and seriously, I wonder how the Trump voters feel about this?
As for me, it’s not the fact
that they tried this underhanded stunt or that they got caught and then after
the fact, withdrew the contest, or even the fact that that they tried such a
ploy in the first place. It is probably their thinking and attitude along the
lines of: “Hey, it’s no big deal – not one
got hurt and besides we’re Trumps and we try stuff like this all the time, so
what?” Imagine it had not been reported on?
The bottom line I believe
shows just how naïve and stupid they truly are to try and play the play the
public like suckers at a carnival sideshow. At the same time, however, it’s
classic Trump: try to pull some nasty stuff, hope you don’t get caught and if
so, dance around it… and they have the audacity to say they are not political –
what a joke, yet, very apropos at the same time.
I wonder what’s next. Your
guess is as good as mine. But, stay tuned – it ought to be a barn burner. That is if any more family members are on the auction or in this case chopping block. Again, stay tuned.
