Not Trustworthy, Unbelievable, Deceptive, and Dark 

Okay, if there is no “there, there,” then why all the ducking and hiding and refusing to cooperate? Cite this as the latest example in this long-running saga:

From Michael Cohen, Trump’s personal lawyer, in response to the Senate Intelligence Committee who asked him to provide information about his contacts with Russian officials as part of its probe into Russia's election interference and whether any Trump associates colluded with Moscow, told ABC that he “declines the invitation to participate as the request was poorly phrased, overly broad and not capable of being answered.”

Cohen then told CNN later that the senators “have yet to produce one single piece of credible evidence that would corroborate the Russia narrative.”

Cohen also did not respond to request for additional comment from Business Insider.

Late Breaking News from NBC: Cohen now will comply. 

All that from Cohen comes on top of all this:

(1) Former NSC adviser Michael Flynn said through his lawyer that he would invoke his Fifth Amendment right and decline a subpoena issued by the Senate for documents related to his interactions with Russian officials from June 2015 to January 2017. (Flynn now also will comply).

(2) Former foreign policy adviser, Carter Page also has declined to provide the same committee with similar documents. 

(3) Then of course we have Trump’s son-in-law and his closest adviser, Jared Kushner, and his Russian “back-door or back-channel” scheme dominating all the news right now.

Then all the others: Trump, Jr., Monafort, Stone, Miller, Sessions, Tillerson, et al (who knows where it will end) all with Russian contacts in one form or another.

I understand their need and right to want to protect themselves, of course, but what about the whole story vis-à-vis the country’s interests and what the public deserves and needs to know – to me, that is paramount.

I contend all this is deeply and extensively connected to one single fabric: The Trump name (Trump Empire, Inc.) and all that is connected to it: name, fame, and fortune and in massive amounts of money and debt of the Trump family. That hole gets deeper with each passing day, or so it seems. It’s always about the money, isn’t it – yes, it is – believe it.

So, the B/L as they say: What are all these close advisers/pals/relatives of Trump hiding? We the people have a compelling interest in this and need to know. 

This all truly is a dark day in American history ... carefully planned or just dumb whatever — time will tell. The truth always comes out. It may take time, but it will come out. Stay tuned.
