QAnon member hiding in plain sight: First what is QAnon (explained here from the SPLC). Then this story from the BBC (where did QAnon come from).
The main story for today is about that prominent QAnon member hiding in plain sight here from Business Insider.
Also, this very excellent timeline of events on January 6
when the Capitol was stormed and attackers thinking their action would enable
the EC vote count to be stopped thus keeping Trump in office – seen
here from Forbes.com.
First, however, please watch this excellent 8-minute video about QAnon
from the BBC Newsnight program – it is truly educational:
Now the main story: Craig Longley, originally from Texas, has been living a double life for several years; running a popular QAnon channel on Telegram, and working as a healthcare professional (practicing chiropractor) in Colorado and he has gone to great lengths to protect his true identity since 2017.
Now he has been identified
through images of him used on his social media channels and by those in Denver
who know him Vice
linked story.
Longley has spoken to people who
now know him about Jeffrey Epstein, Hillary Clinton, and the Obamas – all popular
boogeymen in the QAnon world.
Longley also has been identified
via content he shared on his QAnon accounts. Three individuals, who were
granted anonymity, told Vice reporters that a profile picture of him used on
his “InevitableET Twitter account and an Instagram video” of him reciting the
QAnon Oath matched the image of Longley.
A Vice review of content posted shows
that Longley has embraced many far-right views for at least four years. He has
supported election fraud myths, COVID-19 denial, and the popular QAnon lie that Democratic
politicians are part of a shadowy cabal of pedophiles.
Much of his the conspiracy
content has also focused on vicious antisemitism. For example, Longley has
taken part in the “Blue the Jew” movement, where Antisemites photo shop notable
Jews blue to identify them.
He also claimed in Instagram that
Jews are attempting to enslave the world and has endorsed material from the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” - an infamous Antisemitic conspiracy theory from the
early 20th century.
In 2019, Vice reported, Longley
achieved any QAnon influencer's dream: He was retweeted by then-President
Trump. In one, he had falsely claimed that “Trump has not been impeached.”
But, following the January 6 insurrection, his Twitter account was suspended.
That banishment led him to establish the “We the Media Telegram” channel which now is one of the most popular forums for hardcore adherents of the discredited QAnon movement with over 200,000 subscribers.
(I Note: That site is loaded with very, very sick and false posts).
Longley's clout in the QAnon world has also provided him with an opportunity
to speak at an upcoming conference in Dallas, Texas. That will be at the “For
God & Country Patriots Roundup” Memorial Day weekend event alongside
controversial figures like: discredited Trump team Attorney Sidney Powell, former NSC Advisor (and pardoned by Trump crimial Michael Flynn, current Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), and former GOP Rep. and RNC
Chairman, Allen West (R-FL).
My 2 cents: As this article plainly shows and we can see the national threat of groups like QAnon, the Proud Boys, Boogaloo Boys, Oath Keepers, and other far right extreme radical domestic terrorist groups (how the FBI recently labeled them and rightly so) is not over. It will very likely get worse as time marches on.
But, We the
People must stay vigilant and alert and demand legal and proper action be taken
against them or any other radical rioting groups wherever they exist across the
country. They truly are a clear and present danger as January 6 showed.
This article is but one member hiding in plain sight and folks that is the worst kind of
enemy in and against our democracy: Someone or a group that is hiding plain sight.
Thanks for stopping by.
