Cohen said in part: “I am ashamed that I chose to
take part in concealing Mr. Trump’s illicit acts rather than listening to my
own conscience. I am ashamed because I know what Mr. Trump is. He is a racist.
He is a con man. He is a cheat.”
Trump has repeatedly teased a potential 2024 campaign in the
months since he left office in January. He has raised more money than any other
Republican in the first half of the year – and had a “war chest” of more than
$100 million at the end of June (The New York Times report citing FEC filings).
However, despite claiming the 2020 election was rigged against
him, and promising to help more Republicans get elected, Trump hasn't spent any
of the money on audits or GOP-led campaigns (according to Politico).
Instead, he's largely spent the money (1) to promote his own interests, (2) to cover event and travel expenses, and (3) to pay the salaries of his aides and advisors.
Plus, he has used some of the funds to cover legal
expenses in his baseless effort to overturn the 2020 election results.
Cohen not only called Trump “the greatest *grifter in the history of
American politics” but he added: “He'll ultimately come up with a handful of
reasons why he won't run again and how to blame others for his decision, like he's
not going to run again because of bipartisan hatred for him, or because of the
Democrats, or because he doesn't want to put his family through any more.”
Cohen concluded saying: “Trump cannot stomach the notion of
being a two-time loser, but he will continue to grift until the very last
second.”
* A grifter is a con artist – someone who swindles people
out of their money through fraud. They are also called: “chiselers, defrauders, gougers,
scammers, swindlers, and Flim-Flam men.”

My 2 Cents: Nothing in
this fine article is surprising to most fair and open-minded people who long
ago figured out who Trump was.
That is that he is a skilled and
professional con artist able to keep followers in tow with more and more of his
slick and shrewd BS and style of delivering it to them all while bilking them
for millions of dollars for his own self-interests, but not much else despite
his phony words to keep them hooked and in tow.
