People Close to Trump: Bailing on Him With Consequences in 2024 Forthcoming

I’m kaput for 2024 – oopsie
(Bye, bye American Pie campaign theme song)

Stunning story from Business Insider with this headline:

“Former Trump allies who turned against him and now oppose his 2024 campaign

Highlights:

§  Several formerly close allies of Trump have turned against him.

§  They include VP Mike Pence; former Secretary of State Pompeo; and former AG Barr, et al.

§  Trump's brand appears to be damaged as he gets ready for 2024.

On the eve of the midterm elections last November, Trump was bullish as he readied himself to launch his bid to win back the presidency in 2024.

He was poised to take credit for what many believed would be sweeping Republican successes (e.g., The “Red Wave”) in the 2022 midterms as he was stepping up his attacks on President Joe Biden and Republican rivals.

But as the end of 2022 approached, Trump's political status faced serious problems as those close to him have been calling for the GOP to choose a different 2024 candidate or risk defeat like the GOP saw in 2022 with nearly all those he endorsed and supported lost across the board.

Insider reviewed the former allies (listed below) who were stepping up their attacks on Trump as the 2024 primaries approach.

The details of eight former close Trump allies mentioned in the article linked above are:

1. Bill Barr, Trump’s AG who broke with him over his attempt to overturn the 2020 election with the January 6 Capitol riot.

2. Mike Pence, Trump’s ultra-loyal vice president has steadily grown more vocal in his opposition.

3. Mike Pompeo, Trump’s former Secretary of State taking swipes at him as he ponders running in 2024 himself.

4. Chris Christie, a former Trump confidant says he is dragging the GOP down.

5. Stephanie Grisham, Trump’s former press secretary who resigned after the January 6 Capitol riot.

6. John Bolton, Trump’s former National Security Advisor who says a second Trump term would be unacceptable.”

7. Evangelicals who were vital to Trump's 2016 victory, but now many are turning against him as he insults a lot of them.

8. Kellyanne Conway, one of Trump's former closest advisors, now has some tough advice for him in her recent op-ed.

My 2 Cents: This is as I said is a stunning story.

I suspect more people will bail on Trump as indictments start to land on him – which I suspect will come from GA, NYS, and/or a Fed Grand Jury for the January 6 insurrection, and of course his many tax fraud cases (shades of Al Capone).

But, time will tell in that regard, so stay tuned.

Thanks for stopping by.
