New GOP Party Label: "Hypocrites я Us" Revenge Not Country is Our #1 Aim & Goal

Rep. Jim Jordan craziness from August 2020
(More than just free speech agitator)

Just Security reports on Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) showing his systematic pre- and post-2020 election and January 6 disinformation campaign route with examples of his utter conspiracy craziness.

His impact on broadcast and social media is extraordinary. He is a frequent guest on FOX News, as well as NEWSMAX, and OAN where he advances false claims about the election all the time.

Over the course of the past year, Jordan as the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee (and now the Chairman since GOP took the House), has been engaged in a systematic effort to cast doubt on the integrity of the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

1. He also led efforts to create an image in the minds of Trump supporters of January 6 as the “ultimate date of significance” (his words, repeated several times).

2. He helped spearhead the effort to oppose certification of the election in Congress. He has continued to promote the “Big Lie” even after the events on Jan. 6 and subsequent FBI and DHS warnings that this conspiracy is propelling domestic violent extremists.

What follows is a Timeline of  Jordan’s public statements (in Congress, in public, on social media, and in media interviews) and his known activities related to the presidential election and the January. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Fifteen highlights are from that timeline:

1. Suggested Democrats will try to steal the election (started August 22, 2020).

2. Suggested and directly alleged the election was stolen (started November 5, 2020).

3. Endorsed Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell’s call to investigate Dominion  and Smartmatic (started November 15, 2020).

4. Called for immediate congressional investigations of alleged election fraud (started November 18, 2020).

5. Endorsed state legislators’ picking their own electors (started December 7, 2020).

6. Said Trump should not concede (starting December 7, 2020).

7. Started public call to object to certification on Jan. 6 (starting December 13, 2020).

8. Supported call for “special counsel to investigate alleged election fraud” (started December 10, 2020).

9. Called January 6 “the ultimate date of significance” (December 16, 2020).

10. Met with President Trump and small group of House Republicans to coordinate plans to object to certification on January 6 (December 21, 2020).

11. Raised Trump supporters’ expectations by saying he hoped a majority of Congress will object on January 6 (on January 5, 2021).

12. Helped lead the effort to vote against certification on January 6 (Starting on December 13, 2020).

13. Called for Trump supporters to remain peaceful, but does not say to disperse them (January 6, 2021 3:02 pm).

14. Made false claims about Speaker Pelosi and security preparations for January 6 (starting February 15, 2021).

15. Revealed for the first time that he spoke with Trump on January 6 (July 28, 2021).

This course of conduct arguably sets Jordan apart from every other Republican in Congress who support Trump’s “Big Lie,” voted to object to the certification of the 2020 election, and or engaged in other related activities.

Of the 147 Republicans who opposed the 2020 certification, Jordan was “the most prolific FOX guest,” according to Media Matters that monitors 2020 misinformation.

He fielded close to 10% of all appearances by those GOP members since January 6. And while Jordan lost nearly 150,000 Twitter followers in a post-January 6 purge of accounts associated with the QAnon conspiracy, the most of any Republican lawmaker, he retains more than 2 million followers. Many of his tweets have been shared more than 10,000 times and liked over 50,000 times.

On or before January 4, 2021 Trump reportedly decided to award Jordan the Medal of Freedom. On January 11, Jordan received his Medal of Freedom at the White House in a ceremony with no media present.

Now the biggest hypocrisy of Jordan is his “war on subpoenas:”

NEWSWEEK reports here that Jordan has now showed “flaming hypocrisy” after he handed down a wave of subpoenas targeting several Biden officials despite previously dodging subpoenas himself, according to some legal experts.

Attorney Norm Eisen, who co-authored a Slate article published about Jordan's performance as the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee tweeted: “Jim Jordan ignored subpoenas & refused to answer questions from the 1/6 Comm. Now, as head of the Judiciary Comm., he's expecting others to respect the same congressional procedures he ignored. Talk about hypocrisy.”

Now Jordan has issued subpoenas targeting AG Merrick Garland; FBI Director Christopher Wray; and, Education Secretary Miguel Cardona in his effort to investigate the alleged “weaponization” of federal agencies under Biden. Jordan, among other Republicans, expects a response to the subpoenas he issued.

However, Jordan himself never complied with a January 6 committee subpoena he received for his alleged role in undermining Joe Biden's 2020 presidential victory and the January 6 Capitol insurrection.

The now-defunct House select committee that was in charge of investigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot released a report last December, highlighting Jordan's alleged role in overturning the 2020 election results, describing him as a significant player in those efforts this way:He participated in numerous post-election meetings in which senior White House officials, Rudolph Giuliani, and others, discussed strategies for challenging the election, chief among them claims that the election had been tainted by fraud.”

The House committee further noted that it had issued Jordan with a subpoena, but he failed to appear last year for his scheduled deposition on May 27 and June 11.

My 2 Cents: All of this proves one point without any doubt that Jim Jordan should not be any committee chairman and in my view should be prosecuted for his part in the January events, before during and after that horrible day. Now doing so puts a bright spotlight not only on him but on Speaker McCarthy and the entire GOP.

That needs to be underscored every single day that they are in power and in office for surely it shows they are a serious clear and present danger to the country as a whole. That becomes clear every passing day and it will only get worse not better.

This whole GOP effort is a stain on the country that cannot be denied for any rational thinking person who I hope will join me and others to collectively try and wake up the nation and demand that this GOP stop and desist in their revengeful ways.

Thanks for stopping by.
