What follows is all tied
to the Dominion Systems $1.6B lawsuit against FOX reported here from the DAILY BEAST in part below and here from Bloomberg News and this just as serious from Business Insider here:
“Rupert
Murdoch could face FEC fines if he tipped off Jared Kushner about Biden's
presidential ads before they aired”
“Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch agreed in a deposition that he gave Trump’s
son-in-law and senior advisor, Jared Kushner, a preview in 2020 of a Joe Biden
campaign Ad, as the latest sign of unusually close ties between the Fox network
and the former president.”
In a statement to The Daily Beast, a Fox spokesperson
acknowledged that Murdoch had indeed shared a Biden ad with top Trump adviser
Jared Kushner — a fact that wasn’t quite clear in the exhibits.
A Fox spokesperson said, that video had already been released
publicly and was on YouTube and even had run on public airwaves, adding: “Dominion
had been caught red handed inserting distortions and misinformation into its
lawsuit. Their lawsuit is a smear against the network, designed to trample on
free speech and freedom of the press.”
It’s not clear why Fox waited to reveal this information.
Giving confidential information, as described in Dominion’s filing last week, would appear to meet: The legal definition of a contribution that is: The “gift of money, or any services, or anything of value” from “any person for the purpose of influencing any election for Federal office”.
A Dominion spokesperson did not refute Fox’s new claims, but
provided a statement saying: “The emails, texts, and deposition testimony
speak for themselves.”
My 2 Cents: I hope the court gives Dominion the $1.6B and then adds another ½ billion for some other legal damages/fees, and such.
After all, FOX has earned it, right? Yep, now the “Unfair and Unbalanced”
network sure has – and, the evidence against them is rock solid and compelling.
And, now the potential FEC
case discussed above might just seal or shatter the deal between those two BFF’s:
“Uncle Ruppy Murdoch and Jared Kushner” and make them pay a hefty fine – which
on the face of it is also a pretty compelling and lowdown case, too.
Thanks for stopping by.
