It’s that time of the fiscal year again and once again the GOP-driven road blocks over “DEM spending” are back front and center across the board. Most of their anger is focused on “DOD funding and social programs and woke policy.”

Those are being led by the GOP’s FREEDOM CAUCUS – the old other strains from 2015 who hate DEM spending with a passion. 

They now number some 46 of the current GOP-run House. That is part of this story pointing out why Speaker Kevin McCarthy bends to their every demands so easily (it works to keep him in power).

This part listed at the end of the article basically says it all: Ahead of the September 30 Fiscal Year funding deadline, both Speaker McCarthy and President  Biden have expressed support for a stopgap funding package that would extend current levels of federal funding to December so lawmakers have more time to negotiate a package.

However, the House Freedom Caucus said they would not support such a measure in a letter last month, writing that they would: “Refuse to support any such measure that continues Democrats' bloated COVID-era spending and simultaneously fails to force the Biden Administration to follow the law and fulfill its most basic responsibilities.”

Jolly was a Republican member of the House from FL, but has since quit due to Trump and his January 6 antics. Jolly makes perfect sense in the story.
