Øpen Mouth, Ïnsert Foot, Ñext Senate Leader: Büllshït

Senate Kills Minimum Wage (GOP Millionaires Rally 'round their Wallets)

The GOP killed the minimum bill (only one GOPer voted “Yes” – Sen. Corker from TN).

The vote tally can be seen here. This is an interesting analysis of that vote in part from MSNBC

Republicans continue to show no interest in budging on this issue. They are playing poker, gambling since they believe they are poised to make gains in the 2014 midterm and take control of the Senate, while retaining the House. So, the earliest Americans can expect progress on the issue would be in 2017, barring an unexpected boost in progressive turnout later this year to give the DEMS an airtight 60 votes.

In theory, GOP lawmakers are risking a public backlash by uniting against such a popular economic issue. However, the Republicans are again gambling and working from the assumption that those struggling most probably won’t even turn out to vote – and those assumptions are generally true (graph seen here).

The GOP would have us believe that raising the minimum wage is a “job killer” – it is not. They also want us to believe that most minimum wage workers are teens on their first job and thus don't care about a pay hike. That is so false I can't begin to say how much. But, a few stats might help and an excellent segment here:

1.  About 3.6 million Americans were earning at or below the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour in 2012, and those people were not all high school students flipping burgers.

2.  About half of them were 25 or older, a little more than one-third were working full-time, and a little less than three-fourths had graduated from high school; many have families to support, too.

3.  Working full time for minimum wage would take home an annual salary of $15,080. That’s a shade higher than the poverty threshold for a household containing two adults, and about $8,000 less than the poverty line for a family of four.

4.  These are the workers who answer your customer service calls, deliver your pizzas, take care of your children, bag your groceries and serve your food.

The GOP is flat out wrong on this issue. Will the public respond in November? We can only hope

Tiny Bubbles — Not Don Ho Song — Conservative Kerfuffle

When Three Views Overlap and Clash: Cliven Bundy in the House
First Spoken, Then Clarified, Then ...
(Duck!!! What Duck???)
How Pass as a Bundy Fan
(And not even know it...)

You may agree or not with this post, but surely we all must disagree with Cliven Bundy, serial racist for sure.

Surely Bundy's own words, his own actions, his own beliefs, and his own persona tell the tale: The man is a dyed-in-the-wool hardcore conservative. And, that is why the right heaped so much praise on him lately, that is until now.

Now, they are running ever which way trying to see the man for who he is really is and in some cases, trying to duck all together (Hint: It's a bit late for that part).

So, attention GOPers: Put out the fire and get away from Bundy as fast as possible; don't even remind yourself of the praise, either. Just get out of town ASAP. Know that I mean? Sure you do - you guys are pros at this. Check out this reminder:

Pop Quiz:  How fast can the GOP right wingers run trying to put daylight between their nearly month-long support of Bundy and now?

A:  Apparently not fast enough.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hey, FOX, Hannity, and Others: How Can You Now Justify This

Bomb-Thrower Without Admission of the Deed

Update of the following (April 24, 2014): With three links, Limbaugh types (here), Bundy video racist remarks supporters (here) and FOX's utter silence (here).

The following story comes from here with my basic question:

How can FOX, Hannity, et al, defend this. Cliven Bundy, the Nevada rancher currently under fire for remarks he made about “the Negro,” explained himself on The Peter Schiff Show saying that he’s just “wondering” whether black people are better off being actual slaves or better off being slaves of the federal government.

Bundy said: “I’m wondering are they happier now under this government subsidy system than they were they were slaves when they were able to have a family structure together… and the people have something to do. Are they better off being slaves in that sense or are they better off being slaves of the United States government in the sense of a subsidy?”

The clip can be heard here via The Peter Schiff Show:

My final assessment on this: WHAT A SICK SOB ... ALL THEM. WHO DIDN'T KNOW THIS OLD COOT, BUNDY, WAS ANYTHING EXCEPT A GUN-TOTING, ANTI-OBAMA/ANTI-GOVERNMENT, REDNECK GOOBER WHO LOVES TO BREAK OR AVOID THE LAW.

IT'S NICE THAT THE NEWS CATCHES UP WITH THE TRUTH.

Original Story: Sean Hannity is on the hot seat about his support of Cliven Bundy (see more posts below). This update supports how wrong Hannity continues to be without ever admitting it with his latest statement and rant:

Boy, did Jon Stewart ever rip Hypocrite Hannity in this segment – it is a keeper for sure.

What is truly amazing is how people like Hannity can't, or won’t remember their own words as Stewart points out in this segment.

GOP Hypocrisy Nailed Again: On the Mark = Kudos Mr. Stewart

Stewart's "Latest Segment" - Did a Job on the GOP ... Congrats

Romney Grand Kids Seen During His Presidential Run

This is about the blatant GOP hypocrisy that only a Jon Stewart in his style can point out in a way that cannot be forgotten - a serious topic with humor, although I suspect the GOP would like to forget the images of themselves. Do they actually think people don't watch them on Youtube or remember their silly-ass antics? Do they actually think people don't have memories or do research? Sure seems that way.

The 5-minute clip from the Daily Show is here it's a keeper for sure: PART I

PART II of the same segment (also 5-minutes) - now the men get a chance to shine as it were:

Difference Between Lying Skunk and Lowdown Fox = Zero

FOX Positive Coverage of Criminal Cliven Bundy - Yes, Criminal

A few details on this from here:

Media Matters examined Fox News' weekday programming from 4 p.m. through 11 p.m. ET since it first started covering the Bundy-Cattle-BLM story in Nevada.

Fox News began agitating for a range war on April 9, sympathetically portraying Cliven Bundy as a folk hero based on the Nevada rancher's refusal for two decades to pay the required fees for grazing his cattle on public land.

While Nevada reporters have made clear that Bundy is “clearly wrong and breaking the law,” Fox has waged a PR campaign romanticizing Bundy and the armed militia groups that fled to his ranch and forced a standoff with federal agents who were executing a court order that allowed them to impound his cattle.

Fox Radio host Todd Starnes fanned the flames by implying that federal agents could be “strung up” for confiscating Bundy's cattle, regardless of a court order. Even after the Bureau of Land Management announced that it would return the cattle to Bundy, Sean Hannity asked Bundy whether he was worried that government agents might kill him.

Hannity has effectively turned his Fox News show into a public-relations firm for Bundy and the militias backing him, dedicating more than 1 1/2 hours of coverage since April 9 to effectively agitating for armed conflict with the federal government.

To add insult to injury, Bundy now calls Hannity a hero. Give me a frickin' break. I call this another WTF moment.

If anyone or anything is undermining America, and under the protected cover of “freedom of the press,” it would have to be FOX and Rupert Murdoch looking the other way, or is he? What a great propaganda machine, that is if Fox wants to memorialize Herr Doktor Goebbels and his comparable work.

Weasel Droppings Passing as News is Raw Fox Propaganda

The worst part: They get paid mega bucks

Fox Covers the Bundy-BLM/Cattle Standoff
(Worst Part: Fox favors the law breaker, Bundy)

People on the GOP's rightwing, their supporters, and obvious cheerleaders like FOX, always yap about the DEMS destroying America, or how vile and evil President Obama is and how they have combined to wreck the country with their plan.

However, from what I have seen, heard, studied, and seen analyzed by people a lot smarter than me who track this stuff, is that the faces posted above who are propped up and funded on the airwaves with tons of money from FOX are at the top of any evil pyramid.

FOX gives constant exposure to the likes a Sean Hannity and many others as seen in this very good analysis about the Bundy-BLM-Cattle standoff in Nevada

The actions by the people in support of Bundy are nothing short of total insanity. In fact, it is they and not Mr. Obama and the DEMS who pose the greatest danger to society with their message of hatred and bigotry.

Make no mistake about it, they are good and they have lots of followers, who happen to be heavily armed like we saw in Nevada. They have a popular message and they get big money to spread it. It a collection of well-written and well-scripted propaganda spread 24/7. It would make Herr Doktor Goebbels envious.

Wrong Wing Talk Radio Hosts Are Takers Who Dish Garbage

Bully O'Lielly says: "We can't do this at FOX — take money for canned messages. Not even our janitors can do that."

Another WTF moment. Watch this great documented segment. It's a keeper:

Wild, Wild West Right Wing Range Wars Cir 2014: Mad Weasels

Back to the Future
(Not the movie version)

Words, Actions, Proposals, and Deeds
(Hard to dispute the facts

This story is not only hard to take and even fully comprehend, but tough to answer this one simple question: Why???

There is a some very scary stuff in this story, specifically the part about “… an order to shoot the women first (if Feds got too close and were to shoot first) was a decision being considered.”

All I can say, is man, oh, man, what the hell is wrong the Second Amendment rights people in our country – have they totally lost it? It sure seems like they have based on this story.

The specific part I refer to regards one man, Richard Mack, a former Arizona county sheriff and founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs.  Mack said that the gathered self-described militia had considered using women as human shields if a gunfight with federal officials erupted. He elaborated on those comments in an interview with radio host Ben Swann, saying in part:

“It was a tactical plot that I was trying to get them to use. If they’re going to start killing people, I’m sorry, but to show the world how ruthless these people are, women needed to be the first ones shot. I’m sorry, that sounds horrible. I would have put my own wife or daughters there, and I would have been screaming bloody murder to watch them die. I would have gone next, I would have been the next one to be killed. I’m not afraid to die here. I’m willing to die here.” (Note: This part of that story was flagged by the Raw Story).

What have seen there in this case, and indeed all across the land is raw, ugly, nasty, and down utter madness about guns and the utter disregard for law and order, all the while the gun nuts profess loving the country and rule of law – but apparently only the parts they pick and choose – sorry, boys, it don’t work that way.

We are a nation of laws and not men, and especially armed men out of control with ideas that belong in a movie but not in real life. If there were one word to describe this type of activity or “movement” and be sure, it is growing, that word would be: Insane.

Weasel Rally: GOP Not Most Wanted — What Say You America

Cruz, Paul, Lee, Gohmert, Huckabee, Trump, Blackburn, and King
(Oh, God, Spare Us)

General Theme: Repeal Obama-Care
(Every Single Word)

I will post this very good segment showing a rally for the above eight potential 2016 GOP presidential candidates. It was held in New Hampshire on April 12, 2014.

The event was sponsored by “Americans for Prosperity” (yes, the Koch brothers group) celebrating the “Citizens United” rulings as evidenced by the label on the speaker's backdrop seen in the video. Don't you just love those catchy patriotic titles?

This segment comes from the ED SHOW on MSNBC — enjoy:

Kim Jong-un Great Successor: Not Missing Meals As Kids Starve

Has Packed on the Pounds
(Sure not missing many meals)

Across Town
(Kids Starving in North Korean Streets )

Update to the post that follows. This from former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) speaking along with the potential 2016 GOP field of Sens. Rand Paul, Rafael Edward “Ted” Cruz, and Mike Lee in New Hampshire.  Here is what Huckabee said in part in his remarks

“My gosh, I’m beginning to think that there’s more freedom in North Korea sometimes than there is in the United States. When I go to the airport, I have to get in the surrender position, people put hands all over me, and I have to provide photo ID and a couple of different forms and prove that I really am not going to terrorize the airplane – but if I want to go vote I don’t need a thing,” he concluded.

WTF: More freedom in North Korea than here, Mr. Huckabee? Okay, go ahead and blow up a voting booth, just not an airplane ... savvy? Or go live in North Korea. I will even pay your way there, full expenses, one-way of course.

BTW: Huckabee and Kim, Jong-un would make nice bookends: Two fat f**ks.

Original post: Kim, Jong-un for sure is not missing many meals. He is busy succeeding at being great, I guess??? That must take a lot of energy and thus he burns a lot of calories, so he needs lots of food. The people like a fat, happy, well-fed leader there we surmise (because we know what happens when they are not happy followers: they are fed to the hungry dogs just like Kim's uncle was according to some reports).

North Korea as we have known since WW II has been run by only one family, Certain Kim family: Founder and Father (Kim, Il-sung), then his son (Kim, Jong-il), and now his son (Kim-Jong-un).

Children in North Korea at Risk for Starvation

That was not the first report and certainly not the last. This report of a 2012 trip to North Korea with some 40 dramatic photos come from a Danish source (click here).

The photographs by themselves are eye-opening for anyone who does not know the harsh conditions and realities of life in North Korea. Those conditions are what the government there ignores out of some misplaced pride or whatever – and that which they refuse to acknowledge.

What caused the mess there? In the wake of the poor harvests of the past few years, a series of natural disasters and the chronic crisis of North Korean agriculture, close to 400,000 North Korean children have been threatened by extreme malnutrition. The pictures tell the stark story.

Meanwhile, Great Successor Kim, Jong-un enjoys great meals three or more times a day and at the people’s expense.

Weasels that Discriminate for Any Reason: Many in the House

The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)

Sitrep: Any military type knows that SITREP means situation report, so here is the sitrep on this piece of legislation called ENDA.

The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) is proposed legislation that would prohibit most employers from discriminating on the basis of actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity. The Senate passed the bill in November 7, 2013, however, is still languishes in the House as Speaker Boehner sits on his hands.

The LBGT community called for ENDA because Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, and disability, does not mention sexual orientation. Historically, courts have refused to recognize claims by gays and lesbians under Title VII as a form of sex discrimination. A thin line of cases holds that some claims by gays and lesbians might count as impermissible “sex-stereotyping,” but these cases have been limited to scenarios in which the employee was targeted because of an appearance or demeanor that didn’t conform with traditional gender roles, not necessarily because of her sexual orientation.

Congress needs to act to ensure that LGBT individuals have the same workplace protections that apply based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, and disability (Title VII law for decades). Three quick and important points:

  1. The reality remains that it is legal to fire or refuse to hire someone based on his or her sexual orientation in 29 states.
  2. Those who are transgender can be fired or denied employment solely based on their gender identity in 33 states.
  3. This view is shared by the overwhelming majority of the American public, including majorities of self-identified Democrats, Republicans, and independents. A 2011 poll found that 73 percent of likely voters support protecting LGBT people from discrimination in employment.
Such numbers demonstrate the need for the federal government (specifically this GOP-run House) to expand employment non-discrimination protections to LGBT workers and pass this bill.

My memo to Mr. Boehner: Get up off your hands and move this bill for a full House vote - the sooner the better. Psst: This could impact the midterms, too. Whoops ... that ought to get some movement from him to act, but will it?

Fox Keeping the Propaganda Machine Well Oiled

Steve Douchebag
 (Misinformation and Disinformation Spreader)

Fox News Prez
(Mostly Chief Propagandist)

"Unfair and unbalanced" and living up to their reel name: FOX strikes again.

We all know that networks and reporters slant the news, and we know about their on-air goofs and gaffes, and about gaps in their reporting to keep the public hooked on the story), and yes, we even know about errors that can be proven as such, but most people I think have a low tolerance for outright lying to the public and doing it knowingly like this story reveals (once again via Fox). It may well be "freedom of the press,” and rightly so, but blatant lying the way Fox does like this should be of grave concern – and the public should react accordingly.

The latest stunt seen in this segment from FOX – keep in mind that FOX, owned by Murdoch and run by Ailes, know exactly what they are doing to further undermine America and our system of government one broadcast at a time.

Do they report for the sake of betterment of the general public? Nope. Do they do it for the sake of good news to inform and enlighten the public? Nope. Do they seek to make improvement in society? Hell no.

The bottom line is the bottom line: More higher ratings and more greedy profits.

Can GOP Red Weasels Swim Without Water Wings

U.S. Going Down the Drain as GOPers Blame Obama and DEMS
(And, avoid looking in a mirror)

A very interesting story and study from here (Alternet.org). Kinda scary headlines to kick things off:

Global Rankings Study Depicts an America in Warp Speed Decline

From access to health care and education, gender equality, attitudes toward immigrants and minorities, the U.S. looks like a second-rate nation.

Wow — talk about an attention getter. Let's explore this article a bit more for a some data:

Right up front let me say that GOPers will not see the report for what it is. Instead, they will use it like another tool in their bag of tricks and stunts: “Blame Obama and the DEMS.”

If America needed a reminder that it is fast becoming a second-rate nation, and that every economic policy of the Republican Party is wrongheaded, it got one this week with the release of the Social Progress Index (SPI).

Harvard business professor Michael E. Porter, who earlier developed the Global Competitiveness Report, designed the SPI. It’s a new way to look at the success of countries. The SPI studies 132 nations and evaluates 54 social and environmental indicators for each country that matter to real people.

Rather than measuring a country’s success by its per capita GDP alone, the index is based on an array of data reflecting suicide, ecosystem sustainability, property rights, access to health care and education, gender equality, attitudes toward immigrants and minorities, religious freedom, nutrition, infrastructure, and more. The index measures the livability of each country about what  average people everywhere depend on and care about – that is similar things.

THE PARTIAL SCOREBOARD FROM THE REPORT AS IT WERE – CAUTION: IT IS NOT PRETTY:

  1. The U.S. enjoys the second highest per capita GDP of $45,336.
  2. We rank in 16th place overall among all the countries. Then it goes downhill.
  3. We rank 70th in health care.
  4. We are 69th in ecosystem sustainability.
  5. Then we are 39th in basic education.
  6. Then 34th in access to water and sanitation.
  7. We are in 31st place in personal safety.
One footnote or redeeming feature to all this, I guess: If the index is an affront to your jingoistic sensibilities, we (the U.S.) remains in first place for: the number of incarcerated citizens per capita; adult onset of diabetes; and for believing in angels. So wave the flag and yell: “Hooah, we are #1” (rubber fingers not provided).

If one word were used to describe all this, it might be:  “Ouch – that hurts” (actually that was three words) ...

GOP Fear Mongering: One Note Johnny and a Flat Note to Boot

All Together Now: "Obama-care is a Job Killer"
(A-one, and A-two, and A-three)

Wait - WTF!!! Where'd These Facts Come From??? .... Damn
(49 straight months since Obama-care signed and no job losses)

Forty-nine straight months since Obama-care was signed into law and no job losses - how can that be - who says so??? Oh, Department of Labor, I see, I see.

Okay, guys, fall back and punt. Boy, you have to love the GOPer and their statements. In their own words, not mine:

As they say (whoever "they" is) ... B.S. Mr. and Mrs. Gee Old Poops. Nice try, but no cigar!!!

Sen. Rand "Goofy Weasel" Paul Shares Dystopian Nightmare

Rand Paul's Dystopian Nightmare View of America
(Which way is he looking? Maybe he watched a rerun of The Exorcist)

Dystopian:  “An imaginary place or state in which the condition of life is extremely bad, as from deprivation, oppression, or terror” (or here: from GOPers like Rand Paul spouting Libertarianism).

Should we heed his warnings? Hell, who knows outside of Rand Paul, I suppose… This article from Alternet is pretty darn good (*even with my editing to fit this Blog).

Paul drew a largely friendly reception at the University of California-Berkeley (yes, that Berkeley) as he skewered the intelligence community and trying to “recruit (I guess)” young voters, like the ones who always surround a Paul, just like they did his dear old dad, Ron Paul.

His strategy, not unlike his father's, is to package a fairly old-school brand of economic conservatism under the trendier name of “libertarianism.” That’s not just a labeling change. It also means Paul has paired his retrograde economic ideas with a very outspoken stance against militarism and the espionage state. It’s a mixture that Paul hopes can make inroads with groups that are not traditionally Republican voters.

But, buyer beware as they say:  Here are 10 reasons why Millennials (don't you just love how we label young folks these days (Millennials, Baby Boomers, Gen X, the Drop Out's, et al). They should all be extremely wary of Rand Paul as pointed out in the article linked here (check them out).

Rand Paul — the worst nightmare? For all of us.

War on Public: Education, Schools, Teachers, Unions, and Kids

Public Schools Give Way to Vouchers and Charter Schools
(If not a Socialist, then what???)

After a Nice Meal, a Nice Dessert
(Pick the Public Pocket for a Huge Profit)

Update (April 2, 2014) for the following with this key question: Are private schools (the Charter Schools run by business like a business) in for the money or for education excellence?

I offer this as you answer that question: Public education (those Charter schools set up to take over from bad or failing schools) is becoming big business as bankers, hedge fund managers, and private equity investors enter what they consider to be new and “emerging market.” Consider this, too from Rupert Murdoch, yeah that Rupert Murdoch, News Corp / and FOX news, etc., who was interviewed in November 2010 right after he hired education reformer and former New York City Chancellor of Education Joel Klein to head up News Corporation’s brand new deal.

Murdoch had just bought Wireless Generation, a privately-held education technology company for about $360 million. In the press release making that announcement, Murdoch said to reporters: “When it comes to K through 12 education, we see a $500 billion sector in the U.S. alone that is waiting desperately to be transformed by big breakthroughs that extend the reach of great teaching with thins like this deal will offer. Wireless Generation is at the forefront of individualized, technology-based learning that is poised to revolutionize public education for a new generation of students.”

Murdoch and those like him have no problem about taking public money from public schools and giving it to parents for use in Charter Schools (run by their private Corporation buddies). But, is it an idea out of control. How and why would we know?

Simply stated, Charter Schools take money away from the problem they say they want to solve while creating new problems and leaving public schools in the ashes as they work for profits while picking and choosing which students to enroll and teach ... public schools take all kids.

Most of these schools are as I said, for-profit business charters. They are in business for one reason and one goal and that is the so-called “bottom line” (yeah, that bottom line: huge profits for investors). They pick and choose the top kids that they want to enroll with the aim of making themselves look good while public schools still take all kids, and try to help them all, but then with reduced funding and enrollments.  One wonders how parents and taxpayers can tolerate that system especially with their record. So, let’s ask a few questions and see the real “bottom line:”

1.  Why are public schools accountable to the public and charter schools are not?
2.  Why do many charter schools specifically cater to "gifted and talented" children, focusing on fine arts and college preparation, while public schools take all children - regardless of their backgrounds?
3.  Why do many charter schools offer no programs for students requiring special education, yet public schools are mandated to offer spec educ?

4. Why are public schools ostensibly obligated to school boards, standardized testing, the government, and parents, whereas charter schools in many places have few, if any restrictions on staff and teachers and many charter school officials (CEO's) are especially vulnerable to political pressures whereas public schools are not.
5.  Why are Charter schools allowed to market the idea of smaller schools and smaller classes to ensure personalized learning, yet they end up being specifically tailored to the outliers in the public schools system, chiefly troubled and marginal students, and at the other end of the spectrum, artistically gifted or otherwise advanced students whose parents can afford the tuition. And public schools can’t do that?

Charter School Record (their report card): With fewer than half of the over all state charter school laws earning a satisfactory grade, policymakers now are faced with enormous challenges. The success of these new schools is unparalleled with more than 2 million students enrolled in excess of 6,000 charter schools. However, fewer than half of the states meet the demands of parents and educators who want the freedom to choose charter schools, state laws simply must improve to ensure growth and sustainability. That is their PR challenge – keep selling the product no matter what and hope for the best.

How about some proof from that pudding? What is the final grade for those Charter Schools?

Well, among the nation’s 43 charter school laws by state we see that:
  • Four got a grade of A.
  • Nine got a B.
  • Nineteen got a C.
  • The remaining eleven earned either a D or F.

So, in the world of wanting more control parents could logically conclude, if they dare speak out: “There ain’t no there there – at least not much.” That’s why I call this the R.O.A. report: Ripped Off Again...

Original Posting Starts From Here: March 30, 2014, updated for this site, in part:

Education historian Diane Ravitch says the privatization of public education has to stop. As assistant secretary of education under President George H.W. Bush, she was an advocate of school choice and charter schools; under George W. Bush, she supported the No Child Left Behind initiative. But after careful investigation, she changed her mind, and has become, according to Salon, “the nation’s highest profile opponent” of charter-based education.

Her interview was with Bill Moyers at the link, titled: “Diane Ravitch Tells Bill Moyers Why School Privatization Is Turning into a Disaster...”

One Word That GOPers Who Are Hooked on This Issue Can't Even Spell

In 2012, Gov. Piyush "Bobby" (his Reel name) Jindal (R-LA) introduced legislation allowing parents to use public tax dollars (for a voucher) to send their children to a private or religious school of any kind.

Vouchers are supposed to work something like a scholarship where poor students may be taken out of what the GOP calls “failing public schools.” The money then flows to the private or religious school.

Jindal in fact only placed about 8,000 poor students in the entire state into those private or religious schools. The from the LEAP testing done each year showed that those students in those schools scored drastically lower (40% at or slightly above grade level than the state average of 69%). Another success story at the tax payer's expense that the GOP peddles as a "solution" while fooling anyone who will listen.

A lot more here.

Original post starts from here: Public money for voucher program – that is for private or religious-based schools is on the rise. Have you ever wondered why and what do they teach or what textbooks they use – like where are they produced – where do they come from and what do they contain? I have – take a look here at a few eye-brow raising facts:

The books and the “facts” that they supposedly contain come from at least one big time Christian publisher, named A Beka Book.  A Beka was founded in 1972 by Arlin and Rebekah Horton, thus the origin of their name: “A. Beka.”

This company churns out a significant number of the textbooks used by voucher schools and a good many Christian-based schools, too. About 43% of the religious voucher schools that responded to a 2003 Palm Beach Post survey said their curricula for the classrooms were based on textbooks published by either A Beka or the Bob Jones University Publishing.

A Beka Book estimates that around 9,000 schools utilize their books. What follows here are some titled of the subjects taught ... a full explanation and more can be seen at the link.

I want to be perfectly clear – I have no problems with school choice, home-schooling, or religious or church-based schools – none whatsoever, but I do have a problem with tax dollars going to those schools. Since it does, the façade is “parents are taxpayers and they have a choice as to where their tax dollars are used” along those lines.

The link and list examples of what they teach from those textbooks can be seen here:

1. The Great Depression: Made Up to Spread Socialism
2. Nazis: Brought to you by Karl Marx and Charles Darwin
3. The Post-WWII Era: A Time of Crusades and Constant Praying
4. The '60s and '70s: Everything Goes to Shit, Mainly Because the State Stops Killing Born People and Starts Killing Pre-Born Babies and... Freud.
5.  Freedom of Speech: Gateway to Porn
6.  Justice Clarence Thomas: Greatest Example of Black American Achievement Yet
7.  The Clintons: Draft-Dodging, Economic-Crisis-Creating, Joint Presidents
8.  George W. Bush: Awesome President Invades Iraq and Saves Mid-Born Babies
9.  Barack Obama: Great for the Homosexuals

Sadly, many people ask and wonder if we have become so dumb that all public schools have failed and only A. Beka textbook supplied schools are the answer, or as George W. Bush once asked: “Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?”  — Florence, SC, January 11, 2000

I rest my case, but the case isn't going anywhere soon. Stay tuned.

GOP: Change, Rearrange, Distort, Shuffle, and Rewrite History

On this Topic

All the While Smiling

Good example here - can't suppress the black vote, then just ignore them everywhere.

Southern strategy then and apparently today as well.
