DOJ Under AG Sessions is Running Amok Out of Control Plainly Erratic

WASHINGTON — The DOJ invited a group of reporters to its offices to view those private text messages between fired former FBI Agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page who were both former investigators on special counsel Robert Mueller's team.

Background: Recently, Trump's allies have seized on those texts which were critical of Trump as their “proof” that Mueller's investigation has been tainted. The texts were obtained as part of an investigation by the DOJ's IG into how the FBI handled the probe into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's private email server last year.

Strzok, a veteran counterintelligence agent who was among those overseeing the Clinton investigation, was abruptly removed from Mueller's Russia probe in late July and relegated to the human resources department; Ms. Page left Mueller's team over the summer for unrelated reasons.

Fact: It is highly unusual for the DOJ to release any correspondence that is part of any ongoing investigation to Congress, let alone to the public via the press.

Unnamed sources on the Congressional committees investigating Russian election interference told Business Insider such a move is unheard of, went on to say “that none of the leaks came from Capitol Hill, which obtained the texts from the DOJ separately the same day.”

Former DOJ spokesman Matt Miller said: “It is appalling behavior by the DOJ. This is an ongoing investigation in which these employees have due process rights, and the political leadership at DOJ has thrown them to the wolves so Rosenstein can get credit from House Republicans at his recent hearing (Dec 13).”

Note: Rosenstein said at one point in that same recent hearing there was no reason to fire Mueller.

My View: So, why do this now? Why such a totally brazen and bizarre act? As stated, unheard of – so, why indeed? This matter itself needs a look-see. Something stinks about this I conclude. 

This stunt is like some sort of sleight of hand or three-card monte trick – all obviously to shore up Trump’s view about the Russian thing and well, just his simple paranoia about not getting his way 24/7 – which he thrives on.  

When will this sort of stunt and other Trump-related BS end. It should end with the final Mueller report and Trump booted out office. It all seems to be coming to rapid close and I say the sooner the better for our national sanity and prestige.
