Miller
Applauds Trump Policy Announcement

Introduction
and Update on Topic of Trump and Miller’s new harsh anti-immigrant policy here
from Market Watch:
It’s
possible for a person to be ignorant. We all are, sometimes. And anyone who has
lived in Donald Trump’s America knows what a pig looks like — “a greedy, dirty, or unpleasant person” can be found in the White House.
We’re now reminded that it’s possible for the Trump administration’s immigration
policy to be both piggish and ignorant. Call it pig-ignorant, or “extremely
stupid or uneducated,” per Oxford English Dictionary.
One refers,
of course, to the
administration’s new guidelines for granting green cards denoting
permanent residency status to legal — yes, legal — immigrants. If a legal
immigrant has the temerity to use government services — sign up for Medicaid,
for example, or get hurt on the job and claim disability benefits — no green
card for you.
Incredibly,
the administration would even use credit scores and other measures to screen
out people who might use services later.
The
president with thousands of lawsuits, mostly over unpaid bills, President Tax
Fraud, President Trump University, the man who went broke running casinos and
has doubled the federal deficit from 2015 levels, wants to see immigrants’
credit reports.
Original material follows:
Who we are a nation – a people clearly stated here to
greet new arrives – which was the original purpose of the Statue of Liberty in
New York harbor:
A line from a poem, “The New Colossus,” by the 19th
Century American poet Emma Lazarus is inscribed on the base of
the Statue of
Liberty:
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”
The world
can’t stop talking about immigration. It’s a topic that spurs political debates
and sensationalized headlines, creates conflict and opportunity, affects the
world over, and is emotional topped with hatred.
Unfortunately,
the focus on immigration is mostly negative, and generalizations and stereotypes
abound. Immigrants cause crises they
are thought of as illegals they
suck up resources and lower wages. If you’re Trump, they bring crime and drugs and are “rapists.” (From his
2016 speech – his own words, not mine).
Like most
Americans (99% by some count unless you are 100% Native American) then I’m
pretty sure you too are product of immigrants from Europe or some other place.
And, whether we trace ours back one, two, three, or more generations, I’m
pretty sure that it will show an immigrants base (most likely poor relatives
who ended up successful later in life – that is basic America).
In fact, a
lot of stuff wouldn’t have existed or happened, if it wasn’t for immigrants. Like books never written, movies never produced, clothes never made, or technology never invented without immigrants.
Most
immigrants came here for our freedoms, opportunities, and future from the land
they left for a number of reasons.
Now Trump
and Miller’s Merit-based immigration policy as reported on and outlined here from the Washington Post, or here from VOA news, or here with video and more from Newsweek,
and also here from The Hill.
Definition of Merit-based Immigration: It would reward
points based on high-paying job offers, past achievements, English-language
ability, and education. All that would be taken into account when green card
applications are considered. It gives points for different characteristics,
which are age, the salary you able to command, and how much money you are going
to invest in the U.S. economy. The
higher the score, the more likely an immigrant would be admitted to the United
States.
For example, if you get a Nobel Prize, you automatically get 25 points,
and you need 30 points to be eligible to apply. Now how about this, um?
Trump’s
“merit-based” immigration bill could (again) prompt renewed scrutiny into the
first lady’s immigration history. Why? If such a system had been in place when
Melania Knauss-Trump first moved to the United States in 1996, she wouldn’t
have stood a chance of being able to stay, start a career as a fashion model,
and to have met Trump.
Background: Her immigration history first
faced scrutiny when nude photos taken of her when she first came here
were published in the New York Post. Questions arose over whether the photos
were taken while she was here on a tourist visa (yet working as a model – which
is illegal) or not.
Subsequent reporting showed that she came to the United States on
a tourist visa in August 1996. A few months later, she obtained an H-1B visa
for “skilled workers” (re: The Associated
Press). There were questions about whether she did some modeling work
before getting her H-1B visa as well as how she obtained a green card in 2001 —
due to her “extraordinary ability as a model.”
All that was before she married
Trump in 2006 and become and became a citizen (re: Vox.com
report).
GOPers and anti-immigrants say a merit-based system
would help lower immigration rates and ensure that the immigrants who do come
are highly skilled and less likely to need public assistance, which I says is
utter BS – cite:
Trump says: “The current family-based policy has
placed substantial pressure on American workers, taxpayers, and community
resources.”
(I note: Except
for his ancestors the Drumpf family from Germany who spoke no English and few
job skills and even Trump’s grandfather, Frederick Drumpf (later changed name
to Trump) ran a whorehouse out West in the Gold Rush days).
BTW: Stephen Miller’s grandparents only spoke Yiddish.

FYI: Update on more of Miller's background how he rose to this high position:
His great grand-father was denied citizenship
(Denied: He was ignorant)
CNN’s Jim Acosta who pinned down Miller on the issue,
well his ancestors came from Cuba.
Sen. Mitch McConnell's wife Elaine Chao came from Taiwan
when she was 8 years old.
VP Mike Pence's relatives came from Ireland and no special
skills.
Critics say the American economy also needs
low-skilled workers, and a merit-based system would hurt industries that rely
on them, and they see the merit-based system as un-American and goes against the
basic fundamental respect for family, our religious faiths, and of who we are
as Americans.
Plus, a merit-based system would also cost the
government more because the government would have to review the applications
and pay resettlement costs that are currently covered by sponsoring families.
Specific Pro and Con of Merit-Based
System:
Proponents
of merit-based immigration say the current system lowers wages and discourages
assimilation.
A
merit-based system would help lower immigration rates and ensure that the
immigrants who do come are highly skilled and less likely to need public assistance.
“For decades, the United States was operated and has
operated a very low-skill immigration system, issuing record numbers of green
cards to low-wage immigrants,” Trump said in August when announcing his support
for the RAISE: (Reforming American Immigration for a Strong Economy) Act.
But critics
say the American economy also needs low-skilled workers, and a merit-based
system would hurt industries that rely on them.
A
merit-based system would also cost the government more because the government
would have to review the applications and pay resettlement costs that are currently
covered by sponsoring families.
Critics also
see the merit-based system as un-American.
This proposal
abandons the fundamental respect for the family which is at the heart of our
faith, at the heart of who we are as Americans –
My 2 cents: Whatever it’s worth the Trump proposal
stinks on so many levels it’s hard to list them all.
On this #1 issue for Trump: He is a racist and a man
who has no honor – not one drop. Hopefully sound minds will not approve this
insane idea into any policy for long term. That is not the American way.
Stay tuned and thanks for stopping by.
