Cabinet Meeting: Phony press, phony question, phony issue
This article from
The Hill (via MSN) shows
clearly how unhinged Trump is becoming more so with his daily rants.
Note: My key point
and emphasis at the end of this post on this latest rant.
Trump on Monday (Oct 21) dismissed
criticism that his since-reversed plan to host the G-7 summit at his Doral
property would have led to an ethics violation and violation of the Emoluments
clause of the Constitution.
He said to reporters at the
White House during a Cabinet meeting, referring to that constitutional clause prohibits
elected federal officials from receiving gifts or contributions from foreign
governments: “You people, with this phony
Emoluments Clause.”
Trump asked his only Latin compadre
Trump than again offered a
lengthy defense of using his Doral resort near Miami to host next year's G-7
summit, and lashed out amid questions about the backlash to his earlier
decision.
He insisted that he would not
have profited off hosting world leaders, scores of journalists and other staff
at his family's property near Miami.
He announced over the weekend
that the House would find a new location for the summit following criticism
from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, saying:
“It would have been the best G-7 ever. I would
have given it for nothing. The Democrats went crazy, even though I would have
done it free.”
My key point emphasis
mentioned at the top: Trump, who turned over control of his business empire
to his sons but did not put his assets in a blind trust, then again (right on
cue) criticized former President Barack Obama for his book deal and contract
with Netflix, both of which were agreed to after Obama had left the White House.
My 2 cents: Based on this latest Trump rant, it reinforces my contention
that Trump is incorrigible, mentally unfit for office, and he proves that nearly
every single day.
He has to go – DEMS get busy now.
Thanks for stopping by.
