Many Presidents had a dog but not Trump – His Fav
Twitter (and rightly so) slapped a fact
check label on a pair of “misleading” tweets from Trump on his May 26
tweets in which he railed against mail-in voting amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trump’s first tweet: “There
is NO WAY (ZERO!) that Mail-In Ballots will be anything less than substantially
fraudulent. Mail boxes will be robbed, ballots will be forged & even
illegally printed out & fraudulently signed. The Governor of California is
sending Ballots to millions of people, anyone living in the state, no matter
who they are or how they got there, will get one.”
Trump’s second tweet: “That
will be followed up with professionals telling all of these people, many of
whom have never even thought of voting before, how, and for whom, to vote. This
will be a Rigged Election. No way!”
Factual history of this issue: Numerous experts who study this issue have found no evidence of
widespread voter fraud (NBC news), and one of the best sources is The
Brennan Center at NYU (that site has numerous links to solid evidence stories
that dispute the notion that voter fraud is a widespread problem all across the
country).
Nearly
80 Percent (4 out of 5) of All Americans Favor Mail-in Voting (Brennan Center at NYU)
My 2 cents: Reminder that Trump voted by mail in March.
His new Press Secretary (Kayleigh McEnany) voted 11 times by mail (both say it
is fraud and corrupt way to vote - oops).
As a former (now Retired) Marine (as most military folks) while on active duty and out of the country always have the chance to vote by mail. I did numerous times. Boy, I hope that was not corrupt 40 years ago??? (smile)
Thanks for stopping by.
