Excellent reporting
here from GA vis-à-vis Trump’s effort get votes there so he could have won the
state (which he did not) here
from CNN with this headline:
“Timeline: What Georgia prosecutors are
looking at as they investigate Trump’s efforts to overturn the Election”
Washington (CNN) – Prosecutors in Georgia are
still investigating whether former Trump broke any laws when he tried to
overturn his 2020 defeat in the hotly contested state.
The probe ramped up earlier this year, with a grand
jury convening in Atlanta.
Fulton
County DA Fani Willis said the criminal investigation includes potential: “Solicitation
of election fraud, the making of false statements to state and local
governmental bodies, conspiracy, racketeering, violation of oath of office, and
any involvement in violence or threats related to the election’s
administration.”
Months after the election, new information is still coming
to light about Trump’s potentially unlawful effort to overturn the results.
Recent reports indicate that Trump considered installing a loyalist as the Acting DOJ AG: Jeffrey Clark – see my updated post on that same subject here.
That would be after Trump’s plan to fire Jeffrey Rosen, the AG at the time who took Barr’s place after Trump fired Barr – why?
Clark agreed with Trump’s false claims about voter fraud and he
was prepared to pressure election officials in GA and elsewhere to
overturn the results.
Trump all along has claimed he didn’t do anything wrong and
that the state investigation is politically motivated. Willis, who is a
Democrat, was elected to her post last year.
Noteworthy is the detailed timeline of Trump’s public
pressure campaign at the end of the CNN article. It has serious issues there
and a bookmark for sure.
A key part from that timeline is this critical piece of
information detailing Trump’s forceful phone call to GA Secretary of State Brad
Raffensperger, a Republican, who oversees the state’s election process that
took place on January 2 wherein Trump said to him: “So look. All I want to do
is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have
because we won the state.”
Note: Biden beat Trump by exactly 11,779 official votes.
Also Note: CNN obtained the audio of that call from a source who was in on the
call and who had direct knowledge of the conversation.
Continue the full story and that detailed timeline at the main
CNN
link. An excellent record.
My 2 Cents: This great article speaks for itself … I encourage everyone to bookmark it … worth the time.
As for me, I hope the Fulton County DA nails Trump with his many criminal charges
since there are plenty to choose from.
Stay tuned.
Thanks for stopping by.
