GOP Looney Toon List: Rep. Boebert (CO) Again Off the Deep End of the Shallow Pool

Smug, arrogant, way over her head and then some

From a lunatic’s mouth to your ears this from Business Insider and also some of her and husband’s shady background reported on here:

“Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) said humanity is in its last days and Christians should rise up”

·  Boebert echoed Christian nationalist talking points and “invoked the end times” in a September 9 speech.

·  She said: “It’s time for Christians to rise up and influence this nation as we were called to do.”

·  Christian nationalism experts say such rhetoric has been linked to violence.

In that speech by Boebert she invoked “the end times” which demonstrates how Christian nationalist ideals, including some associated with violence, have made it into the halls of Congress.

She spoke to Christian conference crow at their Truth and Liberty Coalition in Woodland Park, CO saying part:It's time for us to position ourselves and rise up and take our place in Christ and influence this nation as we were called to do. We need God back at the center of our country.”

Boebert also referenced the belief held by some evangelical Christians that Jesus will return after a period of tribulation, or great suffering, and save believers saying: We know that we are in the last of the last days. But it's not a time to complain about it. It's not a time to get upset about it. It's a time to know that you were called to be a part of these last days. You get to have a role in ushering in the second coming of Jesus.”

Full story continues here.

My 2 cents: She can hold whatever religious beliefs she wants – that is her right, but not to say things that are known to incite violent acts. That is totally unacceptable and more so from a member of Congress.

On top of all that we also know she is a proverbial gun nut and has displayed that numerous times including trying to get the metal detectors in the House removed.

In a word: She is looney, and in my view does not deserve to serve in Congress.

Thanks for stopping by.
