2024 Oval Office Hopeful$: Lining Up with Big Smile$ and Election Coffer$ Ready

Early field of hopefuls lining up
(More forthcoming: I can't stop laughing)

Very  interesting article from The Hill: Early Republicans lining up for 2024 run.

I note: I read the article and thought of the old “Laugh-in” TV Show skit.

It starred Arte Johnson as Wolfgang along with guest star James Garner:

#1 Donald J. Trump: Leads in the 2024 presidential race, but he won't run if he thinks he will lose.

#2 Marco Rubio: He had a pretty good four years. He mostly stayed out of Trump's firing line, made no significant gaffes, and kept a solid conservative voting record.

#3 Tom Cotton: Like Rubio he has been cautious about Trump's post-election antics. He avoids getting sucked into the mercurial and turbulent activities of the former President.

#4 Josh Hawley: He made quite a name for himself in a short time by mostly infuriating liberals, bashing big tech. He figured out the gravity of the GOP is more anti-establishment and populist than ever.

#5 Ted Cruz: He gave Trump the toughest run in 2016. Tagging along with Hawley on the Electoral College challenge was a bad bit of “me-too politics.” But, he bailed from his state  during the Texas freeze and blackout.

Possible Contenders: Gov. DeSantis (FL) (above picture ???); Gov. Noem (SD); Sen. Rick Scott (FL); Gov. Abbott (TX); and Sen. Tim Scott (SC).

Two probably out of the running:

Former VP Mike Pence: He now knows what blind loyalty to Trump gets you: Nothing, nada, nil, zilch, zero, and goose egg.

Former UN Amb. & former SC Gov. Nikki Haley: It's cruel but true, she made one mistake (huge one) and that was all it took to wreck her presidential dreams: Being critical of Trump never works.

My 2 cents: I expect this list to grow as time goes by. Trump also says his family heirs are lined up and ready, too: Don Jr., Ivanka (his fav), or even Eric.

Just kidding – the nation would never stand for anyone from that trio, or not even Jared Kushner.

The GOP field is wide open and will be just as Wolfgang said “Very interesting” so, stay tuned – it ought to be a hoot and holler.

Thanks for stopping by.
