NBC reports this – what I have said, too and with
this headline:
“In the wake of Rittenhouse
acquittal and Arbery killing (trial outcome pending), will more people turn to vigilante
justice”
KENOSHA, WI — The acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse on all charges,
including homicide, is not expected to end America's debate over gun control
and the Second Amendment or the heated conversations about when armed
protection of a community crosses the line into vigilantism. Rather, the worry
is over what comes next.
Anti-gun violence groups and some Second Amendment experts
who followed the trial, in which Rittenhouse claimed self-defense when he fatally shot two men and wounded a third during a
night of unrest in August 2020, are raising concerns that people may seize on
the outcome and feel empowered to defend their neighborhoods while bearing
arms, particularly during volatile events.
My 2 Cents: GOP RW mindset
after Rittenhouse goes free is now in effect I think. That is shoot and kill
someone, anyone and claim “self-defense” whether the person or persons were or
were not armed.
Hereafter it will be
referred to as the “Rittenhouse legal strategy.”
I hope I'm wrong but
nowadays GOP gun nuts advocate violence to achieve any political result while
blaming the DEMS for common sense gun control measures like making sure gun law
loopholes like that one on used in this trial, e.g., barrel length that got one
charge dropped are closed; or being underage and allowed to carry an AR-15 like
he did, etc., etc.
FYI - I posted about this earlier, too ... very timely now, too.
All this is utter insanity, but also still a strong NRA tactic for gun sales, which are way up, and the longtime GOP wet dream for more “open carry laws” all across the country like in the old Wild, Wild West days – that is to shoot first and ask questions later.
Or like that old dishonest Judge Roy would say: “Bring the guilty bastard in, give him a fair trial then hang him.”
Keep hoping for the best not the worst.
Thanks for stopping by.
